Connected Savings for Consumers
Save energy. Stay comfortable. Be happy.
In partnership with leading Utilities and energy providers, our ScoreCard tells you what’s driving your energy use and how you could reduce your energy bill! We start by analyzing last month’s weather, compare it to how much energy you used, where that energy went, and how your usage compares to similar homes in the same climate zone. You’ll also get actionable tips to help you reduce energy, save money, and increase comfort!
By comparing historical energy usage data from your Wi-Fi thermostat to our real-time weather data, Connected Savings determines how your property responds to specific weather conditions that impact your energy use. We then optimize the thermostat to be more energy efficient, helping you save money while keeping your comfort our number one priority. We do not change your setpoints but optimize the time in which they are reached. Connected Savings provides our thermostat optimization services to customers in the service areas of our partner Utilities and energy providers.
Weather can really stress the electrical grid. For instance, during extreme heat waves or cold spells, air conditioners and heaters turned on full blast must work harder to compensate for the temperature, humidity, wind and sun when demand is at its highest. For your energy provider to maintain system stability during times of peak energy use, they may occasionally ask you to change your normal energy consumption to help alleviate the load on the grid – this is called Demand Response. Since we know exactly how your home responds to the weather, we minimize your discomfort while we manage this increase in demand to help keep costs low during these expensive peak times. Working together with leading Utilities and energy providers, Connected Savings provides our intelligent Demand Response to customers located in their service areas.
