  • HELP YOUR COMMUNITY

    Power Partner events usually only occur on the hottest days of the year. On these days, Austin Energy will briefly adjust your thermostat settings by a few degrees only as needed during peak energy demand. Your participation in Power Partner events will help to fulfill community-wide demand for electric service and to keep prices low for everyone.

  • Risk-Free

    You can opt-out of energy savings events from your mobile device, web browser or thermostat.

  • Here’s how it works:

    • Power Partner events will occur only between 3:00-6:00 p.m. during the summer (June 1 – Sept. 30), excluding rare emergencies.
    • Adjust your thermostat upward 2 to 4 degrees, no higher than 85 degrees.
    • Occur on weekdays only (no weekends or holidays).
    • Occur no more than three times per week and no more than 25 times during the summer period.
    • Adjust your thermostat downward 2 to 4 degrees roughly 30 minutes before the event to provide temporary comfort once the event begins.

How do I un-enroll or opt-out of this program?

You can easily opt out of individual events by changing the temperature on the thermostat, in the app, or click the Opt Out button when notified.

To un-enroll from the program, please send your request via email to AEpowerpartner@austinenergy.com. This process can take up to 5 business days. In addition, any feedback you can provide to help us improve will be valued.
