Your Benefits:

  • One-time $50 digital gift card for enrolling in the program.
  • Annual participation credit of up to $25 for participation in PSO’s Power Hours program.

How Power Hours works:

Eligible customers must have purchased and installed an PSO Power Hours approved smart thermostat.

On days when the demand for electricity is at its highest, PSO will initiate the Power Hours program.  A signal is sent to your thermostat to adjust the setpoint temperature up to 4 degrees.  Although these events are optional, by participating, you can help reduce statewide power consumption and electricity load to ensure a stable energy supply.

  • Immediately before an event, your home may be pre-adjusted by a few degrees.  Depending on how well it is insulated, your home should remain comfortable.
  • While the event is underway and depending on the current season, your temperature set point will increase or decrease up to four degrees, but your home will not instantly become warmer or colder.  In fact, you may not notice any temperature change at all.
  • At the end of the event, your thermostat returns to its target temperature and your original schedule.
  • Events usually last less than 4 hours.

Through Power Hours participation you can earn a digital gift card that is issued to you at the end of the year.
