What is Smart Rewards?
Smart Rewards is a bring-your-own device load management program, designed to reward customers for saving energy when energy demand is high using Wi-Fi enabled smart thermostats. United Power members who own a qualifying smart thermostat and enroll in Smart Rewards receive an annual participation credit each year they are enrolled.
I have more than one air conditioner and thermostat. Can I enroll them all?
You can enroll up to two smart thermostats in the Smart Rewards program and you will receive an annual program credit for each device enrolled.
When will I receive by Smart Rewards bill credit?
Smart Rewards program credits are typically applied to October billing statements for members who participate during the entire cooling season.
What are the benefits of participating in the Smart Rewards Program?
In addition to the annual bill credit, you save energy with the small adjustments that are automatically made during peak periods. Owning a smart thermostat can also help you save energy and money by learning household energy patterns and automatically adjusting home temperatures. A smart thermostat will help increase comfort while you are home and save money while you are away.
What devices qualify for Smart Rewards?
Smart Rewards is available for members with any Google Nest device and select Honeywell Wi-Fi enabled smart thermostats.
Do I qualify for a rebate on my smart thermostat?
United Power does not offer rebates on smart thermostats. Many new homes are being built with smart thermostats included, and the prices on new smart thermostats have dropped significantly making smart thermostats more accessible for many homeowners.
What is the difference between the Honeywell Home, Resideo, and Honeywell Total Connect apps?
Honeywell Home devices are managed through a family of Honeywell Home apps. Find out more about the right app for your Honeywell Home device here.
Can I enroll my Honeywell Home or Nest device in Smart Rewards if it is not a new purchase?
Any Nest or Honeywell Home smart thermostat qualifies. Your smart thermostat does not need to be a new purchase to enroll in Smart Rewards.
My home is a new build and came with a smart thermostat. Does my thermostat qualify for Smart Rewards?
Congratulations on your new home. If your new smart thermostat is a Nest or qualifying Honeywell Home model, you can enroll in Smart Rewards to earn a bill credit each year for helping us to curb peak power usage.
Will you help me install my smart thermostat?
Both Nest and Honeywell Home provide guides for installing a smart thermostat including video tutorials available online. If you are not comfortable installing a device yourself, your local HVAC contractor can quickly install your thermostat for a fee.
