Thermostat Optimization
This new thermostat optimization feature may save $17 – $67 a year by intelligently managing your thermostat in any weather, rain or shine!**
It appears your Honeywell thermostat has been unregistered from Total Connect Comfort (TCC); as a result, your enrollment in Connected Savings has been put on hold. To continue saving on your energy bill, please register your device on the TCC portal and re-enroll for the Connected Savings program.
What is Connected Savings?
Connected Savings combines big weather data with smart device data (like that provided by Wi-Fi thermostats) to automatically deliver energy-efficiency savings throughout the year. You can now save energy and money while staying comfortable. It’s a simple and revolutionary, patented idea that is enabled by our unique weather data and engineering expertise.
Why am I being offered Connected Savings at no cost?
Connected Savings is working to identify energy efficiency savings opportunities across California. The goal of this 12-month study is to better understand the benefits and savings potential of thermostat optimization. Participants can opt-out anytime at their convenience.
As a research-focused initiative, only those customers who express interest and are eligible can participate in the program. There is no cost to participate in the program. With Participant’s consent, interested customers’ utility and thermostat data will be used in energy savings and other analyses.

How will my data be used?
Your data will enable Connected Savings to evaluate energy savings in residential homes in selected climate zones throughout California over a 12-month period. Any information shared with Connected Savings will be subject to the Connected Savings service privacy policy.
Connected Savings uses data from your Wi-Fi thermostat, and local, real-time weather data to develop a thermodynamic model of your home to understand how it responds to varying local weather conditions.

How does Connected Savings work?
Connected Savings uses data from your Wi-Fi thermostat, and local, real-time weather data to develop a thermodynamic model of your home to understand how it responds to varying local weather conditions. Using this model, Connected Savings fine-tunes your thermostat schedule every day based on the forecasted weather, the thermal properties of your home, and your thermostat setpoint schedule. Connected Savings continuously updates the model of your home with new data that accounts for changes, including changing seasons, so the impacts of any changes you make will be captured by the model. We do not change your setpoints, but only optimize the time in which they are reached. This means lower energy usage and costs for you, without sacrificing comfort.
Connected Savings makes your comfort its No. 1 priority. Keeping people comfortable is key to maximizing participation and, ultimately, the total amount of energy saved. It is the hyper-local weather conditions and forecasts powered by Connected Savings’ proprietary weather network that allows Connected Savings to minimize energy use and maximize savings without sacrificing your comfort.
How do I un-enroll or opt-out of Connected Savings?
You can un-enroll or opt-out of Connected Savings anytime through the form found at http://connectedsavings.com/contact/ or email us at connectedsavings@whiskerlabs.com
This process can take up to 5 business days. In addition, we appreciate any feedback you can provide in order to help improve Connected Savings.
How does weather impact my heating and cooling costs?
The weather has a significant impact on the thermodynamics of every building – changing the length of time it takes to heat up or cool down; the amount of heat or cooling lost through walls, windows and cracks; and the amount of energy required to keep occupants comfortable. For example, the amount of energy an air conditioning unit uses to cool a building varies with outside air temperature—the hotter it is outside, the harder the air conditioner has to work to keep the building cool.
Temperature, humidity, wind and heat from the sun are the next largest factors in determining how much you pay to keep your home comfortable. Connected Savings optimizes energy use and lowers energy bills by understanding current and expected local weather conditions, and how a home will react to them. In your area, you may save between $17 and $67 every year the service is active.
